A lot of exciting things are happening and are going to happen. Could 2010 be a break out year of new "add-on" kits? We shall see. We at Primeval Plastics are a bit behind with a few kits we planned to release. Unfortunately, situations happen! Thanks to Rob Mattison, we will update and add more info to the primevalplastics.com website soon. Keep checking back often...
Thank you Trevor for taking the step and doing a forum for the PS kits. Even though there are 17 wonderful kits to the series, there are also fantastic additions that compliment the line as well. Action Hobbies "Parasaurolophus", Alchemy's "Stegosaurus" and Primeval Plastics "Protoceratops", to name a few.
So if you have a question, comment or suggestion about these, please feel free to share.
I like sharing!!!! ;D

I have the Protoceratops kit you folks @ Primeval Plastics made- it's fantastic! It captures the style of the original Aurora PS kits nicely. I missed out on the first run of Iguanodon kits and worst yet, I had to pass on a second chance offer from you, Steve because I didn't have the money at the time. Perhaps some day.....(stares off dreamily)....

They're (Iguanodons) not completely out of production, just on haitus right now. In the near future, I hope to have some out for availablility.

I know I hope to have some cash left after WF to pick up the raptor. That will complete my Primeval collection. I love each and every one of them. They really do capture the feel of the original line.

Looks like I need to get a few items cast up! I better start now before things too crazy for Randy. If anybody has a notion of picking up a Raptor, Iguanodon or a Jungle swamp plate, anytime in the near future, let me know.

The Struthiomimus and Iguanodon are on my list - hopefully soon! I must say the sculpt of the Struthiomimus looks awesome from the photos, really clean and right on with the style of the original models — I may be ordering that one this week... GV

It would be really interesting if someone came out with PS retro style boxes for all the new models in the line. That may be ambitious, but has anyone heard of it as a possibility?

I have been contacted by several individuals wanting permission to try their hand at re-creating our Primeval Plastics Dino's into an Aurora style box art painting but yet to see pics of any of them?!

2010 is 3/4ths through! I have nothing exciting in the way of news?! A bit of a disappointment really! The Ichthyosaurus is still on hold. (I don't know when that'll ever get finished?!) I've had a handful of inquiries about our products this year but no sales. And even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be able to get any products for a very long time. So, we will bide our time and when it's right, things just might pick up. Until then, we stay happy by modeling!

You probably mean this one from Alchemy. Very nice kit, I've seen it several times in person. Sadly, it's a bit out of my price range.

Yes, that's mine! I made the base using celluclay and 1/4" wood pressboard. I put the celluclay down on the board where I wanted the ground to be and left the exposed board open for the tar pit. Then, all I did was cut out a few random shapes to make the edges. If I can remember, a few edges lined up with various PS kits. (I just don't remember which ones?!) Some rocks and grass were sculpted from epoxy putty.

Yeah. Steve has lots of cool builds. I know how bummed you are about the current lack of interest in the add-on (and seemingly the original series as well). I think the interest will spark again. After this bad economy clears up and people can start having fun again. Also, there was a bit of a perfect storm there that really ramped things up. With Revell reissuing the kits, you making new ones, and Mike literally flooding the market with new stuff. I think a lot of people into the series kind of went on a bing, and are still recovering from it all. I don't know about others, but when you get too much, too fast, I tend to get a little burnt out.

Thanks Trevor! I agree with you whole heartedly. It took about 30 years to pop it into full regeneration with add-ons. I'm sure we can hold on for another 1, 5, 10 or even another 30 more if needs be! It definitely is not he end of the world but it's a shame that good things have to end at some point. Who knows, things might fall into place and we'll surprise all with a few new kits! ;D Anyone can go to our site (link below) and see what we were going to, and still might, produce. Comments welcome!
