Why is the Airfix Dino thread closed? Did I miss something?

Don't know what happened. I unlocked it.
Must have clicked on something somewhere along the line that accidentally closed it.

I've been looking for the Corythosaurus for years. I'd love to find one. I sometimes see boxed sets of three but never see these individually wrapped anymore.

They are also released under the French Heller Brand. I got a three pack at model zone a few years back in the Trafford centre

I live in the city where the Airfix (Humbrol) factory used to be. It closed a few years ago and was partially demolished, now being rebuilt into a huge warehouse for a Japanese company. The had a "Airfix" sign about 20 feet in diameter on the side of the building and a 3/4 scale (?) model fighter plane in the grounds. Every year they had a stock clearance sale and sold off loads of kits including Heller and I think Frog, brushes, paints etc at supidly cheap prices. They always had the three pack dinos, but no single ones. However I never bought them as they had no sentimental value to me! Wonder what happened to the sign? I thought about asking the demo company, but too big to display anywhere. The Plane was sold. Regards G

If anyone is interested, there are comparative pics of an Airfix Ankylosaurus and Stegosaurus on the thread entitled 'Pyro -Lindbergh conversions and appreciation'.

Just experimenting with subtle brow horns on a spare Airfix T Rex, plus some work on the legs to change its stance. These outrageous brows will be filed down! Attachments:

Kept the brow horns and added some more! My spare Rex is now a nice red Alloramus. Attachments:

Thanks Andy. The photo is terrible and it looks a lot better in real life. Its red, but a bit of a tribute to the PS Rex. I have an Atlantis Rex to do and normally I tend towards greens and browns. I thought if I worked with red on a small scale it would work better when I came to the real thing. Most tyrannosaurids look the same, the chance to add some horns was fun.

I may well have won an Airfix Pteranodon on E bay. I have never had this kit before. Really excited about getting it.

Thanks Andy I will. I hope its still got that nice bagged up plastic smell that I loved as a kid! Most kits were airfix back then in the Uk. The Dinos looked great next to the Pyro/Lindberg ones in terms of accuracy, but they still didn't have that B movie charm of the american kits. I just need the elusive corythosaurus now to complete the Airfix set.

My vintage Pteranodon arrived in great condition and it is very nicely produced kit. Only half a dozen or so pieces and they fit together well. The coelacanth fish is a nice detail. It could be cast up and copied for the PS kit if you had the equipment. PS. If anyone in the UK has a spare airfix corythosaurus I'd be interested.

£1.05 a bargain! Sadly I'm old enough to remember paying 40p for my Lindberg Corythosaurus from local toy shop only to be mugged for the remaining 10p (out of my 50p pocket money) on the way home!

I have owned every Airfix dino but the Pteranodon. I'd love to get a hold of one one day. The ceolocanth would be cool, like you said, for the PS addition. Anybody have a fish that we could use to make a copy of? Right now, the only kit I have and cherish is the Bronto. The Trike, Trex and Cory all fell off the shelf and shattered. I couldn't repair them at the time but unfortunately, they got miss placed and tossed away by accident. I'll be on the hunt for replacements as soon as I can.
