I have decided to do a kitbash of the Neanderthal Man this time. I wanted to do a pose that most everybody has seen but probably haven't thought much more about it. This idea came to me the day I received the kit via the US mail. It was a gift that was missing pieces and parts but enough of the parts I needed to do the project. There will be one pic per post of the progression. Guess if you can see where this is going. Here HE is gone to pieces....

OK, that is slick Steve! I thought that pose looked familiar. Did you make the rock?

That looks like the large flat rock from the cave to me.

Well, I decided I couldn't wait until tomorrow to check the LHS for the Mr Surfacer so I bought some online from a company in California. Hopefully it'll show up in the mail by Wednesday. Has anybody here used it on their kits?

Nope. I use Aves for my stuff.

I have Aves and another putty that escapes my mind right now to do the filling. but the wrists on this guy are having some blending issues so that is why I am getting the mr surfacer to see (hopefully) if that'll alleviate the blending problem. This'll be good practice to for other future projects and blending issues.

Should have mentioned that I also have some Aves epoxy paste that I use for fine blending like that.

Here he is standing atop the cave....free standing I might add! Two things I'd redo if I did another man. 1) Not decapitate and preposition the head and 2) Bend his arms back a little bit further. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the way he has turned out. Now, comes the priming and painting!!!!

Looking good Steve.
I'm jealous. I haven't had any time to work on kits since before the holidays.

Thanks Andy and Trevor. I'm trying to take advantage of the little time I'm allotted. So far, it's been going good. Here he is now all primed and ready for paint. It might be this next weekend. Got some more pressing things going on this week.
