Man, i really need to find another income so I can afford all the kits I want. This thread keeps reminding me how cool these kits are, and how few I actually have (at least I think I have one or two floating around somewhere)

My childhood Life-Like edition Triceratops, built rather roughly when I was 7 or 8 years old. Probably the third for fourth dinosaur model I ever had. He's molded in black. I haven't seen another molded in black since. It's missing it's right front leg - the raised one - not quite visible (invisible?) from this side. Not a bad kit. There are some poorly-engineered sprue points that result in problems, and gaps. But overall the sculpt is nice and at this point in time charmingly dated.

Desslock, are you going to share and unboxing of the LifeLike "World Of" sets you scored? I'm really eager to see the contents. (I also noticed the seller was offering another of those sets.)

I'm out of town this month for the World Series of Poker, but will happily show when I'm back in early July. Yes, he's selling copies of both kits I bought right now. Wish he had the Tyrannosaurus one - would have to pull trigger.

I had all three kits as a kid. I've found the stegosaurus kit again on eBay some years ago - was able to get it for $35 USD. It's still in the process of being put together - will show pix. Here is a rubber Dimetrodon on the base and backing from my original stego kit - painted with kid's watercolor paints, when I was a kid, in the mid 70's. The Pyro T-Rex must have had a caveman; since like the stego, it isn't in the "World of" instructions anywhere, and it is cast in the same plastic as the main dinos. That Nerdenthal had both legs and arms spread, and was holding a long wooden club. _____________________________________________ In this pic, the turtle, the Dimorphidon on the wood stump, and the tall thin palm tree were all accessories of the World of TRex. The tree with the green cone tips are from the Worlf of Tric kit, and the long necked Tran is from the WoSteg kit. Updated painting is underway... ________________________________________ I would really like to get scans of the backdrops for Tric and TRex dioramas. Mine have disappeared in the early 80's, though I do still have the Stego one.

Wow - Nice to see those built-up! I hope you can get your World Of Stego set restored.

Shoooot!!! I'd love to get a resin copy of that Dimorphodon! Anybody have a spare or a way to copy it?

He's rubber, made in China, bought in Plattsburg waaaaaaay back in 1975. BEFORE Star Wars was released and became the only thing any kid wanted. Any clues how I could copy him - cos he ain't half bad.
Now that I think of it, I have NO idea how that rubber could have lasted this long without drying and cracking. What the hell gives?!?

FYI - noticed a big lot auction on e-bay for an almost complete un-built series of the Pyro/ Life-Like, if any one is interested. I'm kinda tapped and concentrating on the Pre-Scenes and Tamyia, but am looking for a nice 1/35th-ish Stego to convert to Kentrosaurus for my Tamyia. Looking for something with a little variety in pose. Airfix version not quite different, Lindburgh a little cheesy, any ever mess with the MPC/ AMT version? Horizon might work, but I haven't messed with vinyl.

Recently bought some Pyro life like early sixties kits form a chap in Italy. What struck me was the quality of the older narrow boxes. They were beautifully printed and solid as a rock. A treasure with or without the kits! LOL

So, any word on that World of Triceratops kit? I'd love a scan of that backdrop; the one I have isn't perfect... and I REALLY want a scan of the WoT.rex backdrop!! I don't have it!
