Has anybody picked up the Brontothere/Titanothere kit from Jeff Johnson? It is HUGE and highly recommended! I just received my copy yesterday and it a very large and impressive kit. It's a 1/12 scale and 17" long and 8 1/2" high. He has only made 10 copies but if enough interested, he might make more!!!! Here he is next to the Cro Magnon man....

I was making one to go in the tarpit as substitute for the Rhino. Looks like I'll have to use the body and change the head now! Uintatherium coming up! This is a cool kit and it really gives you an impression of the size of the creature. Imagine two of these in the rutting season charging at each other. Thunder-beast indeed!

It makes me laugh 'cause I remember the two Brontotheres (Men in suits) butting heads in the movie "the People that Time Forgot". How silly but man I couldn't get enough of that show or the Land that time forgot either. I thought the beasties in both films were too cool. Now, I laugh at the fact I thought they were too cool! Uintatherium is a cool choice too!!!

Those two brontotheres, men in suits, were surely in the other Doug McClure classic, Journey to the Earths Core? I love those movies still! The shear audacity of them using men in suits and big rubber puppets. It was cool, you were right! Its still cool, as my daughter would say... 'Well sick retro'. Which is a good thing apparently. She sat with her friends and back to backed Journey, Warlords of Atlantis , land and People that time forgot. I think I started a thread once which asked which models would you like to be produced. Well for me it was anything from Journey. Trouble is its hard to get any decent stills to sculpt you own.

Oh man. That's a tough call on the pin holes. Depends on how much you are willing to live with.
If it were me, I'd probably give filling them in a shot, and see how time consuming it is. Something like that I usually do while watching TV. Makes the time go by faster.

I know you did and I ain't complaining. Just that I want to make my own version from it. Covering the entire body with Aves isn't realistic or worth it so I'll just fill in the pin holes and proceed from there. Love the Kit BTW!!!!

Hey, I did the best I could! Not everyone can cast as good as Mike. It's why we are called modelers. We can fix just about anything.

Okay, I probably won't do this for awhile. I am planning some alterations to a few areas that'll change his appearance....somewhat?!

Hey was completely asleep on this one! How much and how do I order? Base and nameplate included? You would need to contact Jeff Johnson (YarriWarrior) about availability, price and shipping info. There is no base or nameplate for this.

Thsnx for the recommendation and the info....got one comin'. Have you tried some kind of Gameworks/ Citadel primer? These have a tendency to "fill" nicely!

Great to hear you have one coming! You won't be disappointed. I haven't tried those primers. I haven't worked on him yet either. Doing some more thinking on it before I delve back into it.
