I don't suppose that Denncom was at WF 2013 to announce the release of the new PS kits? Nope. Think he still has his hands full with the Animal Pit and Dungeon.

I knew the answer. Just wanted to respark the thread for some reason. Dennis is sure having issues with the release of the two kits. I hear he keeps trying to tweak the original and it's costing him a pretty penny instead of retooling a new one.

There is no tweaking those molds. They need work in order to operate properly. It doesn't sound like a huge undertaking, but it also isn't insignificant.
If he had the cash, and could bite-the-bullet and do it, he would be farther ahead to break it up into multiple molds.

How much does that kind of thing cost to do?
I'm amazed at how much Armor modeling stuff gets produced - 1600 parts/kit, which sells for $20. Seems amazing that it's profitable, especially given the quality of modern modeling compared to military kits in the 70s and earlier. But obviously they have a much larger pool of purchasers (huge, for the hobby). It's amazing to see some parts of this hobby are still thriving, producing a dozen new kits monthly and addons, etc.

Not sure what the costs would be. To break it up into multiple molds would easily run into the tens of thousands of dollars though.

To put the thread back on track. I was told that Andy and Dennis are still thinking of moving ahead with the PS. Right now, Dencomm has their hands full with the producing the AP and D (Animal Pit and Dungeon)

Nope. They are still working on the Dungeon and Animal Pit. Which have been been split up into smaller molds and are still in the "test shot and tweaking" stage.

I saw this announcement the day before I left for WF. Honestly, I still don't know what to think about it. While I really like the idea of new kits in styrene. I am reserving judgment until I see some actual sculpts and see what they look like. And I will contain my excitement until there are some firm release dates. Sorry to be so cynical, but I have gotten my hopes up for stuff before and never seen them come to fruition. So I will save my enthusiasm for when things are a bit more clear. Not that I have anything against Dencomm's intentions. Just I have been-there-done-that too many times. Well, it's been over 4 years so I guess it is safe to assume it is a wash out. Dencomm has made no attempt at all to give any updates.

From what I've been hearing, you won't hear a peep out of them until the MS Animal Pit and Dungeon are done and ready for the public to purchase.

From what Trevor announced in another thread is that Dencomm is doing a PS book. A follow up to the MS book they put out a short while ago. This tells me that they are gearin' up to get the PS started shortly. Even though the Animal Pit and Dungeon aren't really exciting by themselves, it's the thought that they were part of the MS series and it's one more piece of Aurora history that has made it to completion in our day and age! Thanks to a small number of Aurora enthusiasts!!!
