So, I presume there's only one version of the Allosaurus, even though it's been issued multiple times (not referring to the base variations - just the Allosaurus itself).
But some of the re-releases remove from the box pictures the "drool" on the tongue of the Allosaurus -- I've always presumed that was just a modification for the box picture, and not a change to the kit itself, but never heard confirmation of that, so I thought I'd finally ask here.
TLDR version: is there a rerelease version of the Allosaurus that has removed the drool from the tongue of the kit?

All versions of the kit have the drool. The tooling has not been changed since it was originally issued in 1971. The base was added by Aurora. Then dropped from every reissues (along with the nameplate)
I keep kicking around the idea of making a replacement tongue, without the drool, and some teeth attached to it to replace the ones that aren't on the kit.

Except on the 1990's MiniDino's version - that Allosaurus version doesn't have the saliva!

Very nice, and thanks for the links to your site. Did you cut away the saliva, or did it actually come that way in that Monogram reissue?

If it came that way, it would be news to me. I'd love to see Revell do that. But doubt they ever will. Heck, they can't even put the nameplate in the reissues.
It does look good. Hadn't thought about going that way with it before. I always thought of just cutting it off and having teeth all across.
