I have them all- most from my original collection as a kid in the 70s! The only reissue I have is the T-Rex; I don't know what became of my original from way back when- Mom tossed it out or something! I didn't keep the original boxes from the 70's. I would cut them up and make collages or mobiles out of the images from the boxes (oy!) - i've been collecting vintage boxes over the years as i can afford them. The T-Rex kit is a "Holy Grail" for me- I recently got the cardboard backdrop off of eBay so I'm on my way to get it by piecemeal.

Any multiples? I know I have 2 of each of the people so I can build them both ways (though if you think about it, you could do 4 different versions of each) I also have 2 tigers. Debating on if I want to do 2 different Giant Birds.

I have 35 original boxed PS kits. I have at least doubles of everything except the T-Rex, Cave Bear and Woolly Mammoth though I am sure that will change at some point The doubles are mostly because I wanted to own both box variations since quite a few of them had box art changes. I was able to recently pick up the second box variation of The Cave that has no Allosaurus in the artwork. I will post a pic later to show the updated display of boxes.

Wow. That is quite impressive. Just watch out. Next thing you know, you will be looking for the Canadian and European boxes as well

Just curious. How many do people have in their collections. With a lot of help I'm within one or two small pieces and about half the boxes.

Let's see now....I have one of every kit but not all are originals. The people I do have 2 each of and would like to add more eventually because of different poses. A mostly complete original orange T-rex. I also own Action Hobbies Parasaurolophus (must have), Alchemy's Stegosaurus (also a must have) and Elasmosaurus, Primeval plastics Raptor, Iguanodon, Protoceratops and Struthiomimus. Eventually I'll gather more from Alchemy. I do have a few original boxes and missing all the larger ones. Nameplates are also a must for my collection and I have all of those too including the new JS nameplate. Love these kits!!! ;D

A few years back I went about collecting up the series when the Revell reissues hit the shelves. I really love the models themselves and as cool as the boxes are I don't have room for them. Also, I was able to pick up good deals on complete models because they were either painted poorly or were missing the box.
Also have the Steg, which needs stripping and a repaint, my bases for the newer reissues came from Borealis back when he was casting them...felt it was the least expensive way to get them at the time at least. GV

Oh yeah. Those resin bases were much cheaper than the real deal.

If I include reissues I've got all 17 about twice over, but not always boxed. I've got two original Allosaurus', for example, but only one with an Aurora box. So there are some box variations which I don't have, like the second-issue Sabre-tooth and Allosaurus boxes. The only kit for which I have just one example is the Jungle Swamp, I think.

Sounds like you still have enough to have some fun A few people have asked how many I have. Maybe this weekend I will get a chance to count them up and answer.

Ok. I sat down and figured it out. I have like 50 kits in my personal collection.
22 kits either built, or slated to be built 3 (so far) to be just snapped together with no paint 5 (so far) put away to be used for add-on conversions 20 sealed reissues
Eventually I intend to have 64 just for building purposes. 22 full builds 22 snapped with no paint 20 for add-on conversions
And I figure there are like 69 aurora issues that I hope to someday have sealed versions of. And 50 reissues total that I hope to have sealed.
So right now, I and shooting to eventually have 119 sealed 64 built 17 add-ons For a total of 200 kits.

Very nice collection. Trying to figure out the 22 full builds you want: 17 kits, plus I presume one alternate pose for each of the humans=20, but curious what the other 2 are. 2nd Cave for a full cave? Sabertooth in alternate pose for Tar Pit?
And 119 sealed! Are those all of the Canadian/UK/71/72/reissue permutations? Are sealed copies that common?

Hi all, I am only missing the "sail back lizard" kit then have all the original Aurora kits ! When I was a kid there were no dino models, then I descovered the Pyro kits, which I still own. (When I finish the PS build ups these will be the next project.) After that came Aurora. I had about half of the kits ,including the T-Rex, from being a kid and have slowly picked up the others over the last few years. Most have been built up and painted. I have glued and joint filled them and have tried to reproduce the box illustrations when painting them. Working on the Allosaurus - built, filled & primed. Just started glueing together the T-Rex, after over 30 years in a bag! The last one I have to start is a sealed giant bird kit, however I have left this till last as I don't know wether to open it and make it or get another one for building. I have no intention of collecting sealed kits thought. Regards

The 22 kits. 17 different kits 3 more humans with the other arms/legs another tiger using the other legs (mine is matched with the cave bear) and another flying reptile hanging above the others. The one on the base will have the broken wing. And yeah that 119 sealed are all the different Aurora versions. US / Canadian / European for both the 71 and 72 version boxes of the first wave kits. As well as the 2nd wave kits. As far as I know, there is only one version of each of the final wave of kits. Then all the reissues (including the 'T-shirt offer', and 'glow paint' variations. Most are fairly common sealed. The key is nice condition and a price I am willing and able to pay. Reissues aren't that hard to find. Though getting ones that aren't starting to crush is a bit tougher. Don't know if I will ever be able to complete my collection. But you have to have something to shoot for. Otherwise it might get boring
