Even though the description matches to a T,this is not the same kit that`s for sale in the buy & sell forum.Need an idea on how much this kit may be worth partially built up & partially restored. Missing the meat for the Vultures mouth. Some parts were painted & glued. The paint has now been stripped & I cleaned up the glue. And this kit looks like there was a molding error.Between the nose & upper lip there is a glue pin hole.Clearly not made by human hands. Anyone know what this kit mite be worth in this condition? Thanks

IMHO: A kit collector lucky enough to have an unopened, unstarted Tar Pit in a carton that looks straight out of the 70s can ask for hundreds (on Ebay). A buyer's mouth will water at the prospect of opening something unaffected by so many circumstances. People dream about getting a Tar Pit just like the one they saw on shelves so many decades ago. Depending on the wear and tear, the going rate can drop sharply.
Bruegman's book, Aurora: History and Price guide (1992) listed a built-up Tar Pit's value as $20. Pretty low. Any breakage or defect and the selling price may be dismal. However, they aren't making more of them at the moment. A picture is worth a thousand words--photograph what you're intending to sell.

I used (built up) Tar Kit, with missing pieces, is probably worth less than $30 on ebay. Might get lucky and get a bit more, but it certainly won't be much more
