This makes me cross. Some years ago, I managed to acquire an Aurora Black Bear and Cubs. A veritable glue bomb, but with some TLC, I brought it back little by little. The mother bear's snout and removeable jaws were the worst and took a lot of setting and re-setting to get them positioned just so. Everything, including the near-disastrous cubs is glued into place. Now Atlantis models has come out with a reissue of the kit. The dilemma is on. Attachments:

The Atlantis version is not a true reissue. They super-sized the kit.

I like the original smaller sized model myself. I wish model companies would quit super sizing these and figure kits. I like the smaller shelf space they use up as well. Steve

Dec.25 is typically a busy day for me, artistically speaking. I just finished the refurbished Black Bear I've had on hold for so long. Those broken pieces made reassembly more challenging and hiding them from the camera was an added difficulty. Anyway, here they all are. Shot from a low angle to show off the adult bear's head. I preferred this view to the obligatory side view which is supposed to show off the name plate and the no hunting sign. Attachments:

The commonly photographed angle for this kit. The adult bear's cracked-off head and neck shows more than I thought. Well, some paint should take care of that. Also, since the bear's body is filled with caulking material from shoulders to tail, I decided NOT to glue it to the base, but just sort of drop it there and let it settle into place for a few pictures. The adult bear's coat is black/brown with some gray highlights. I even threw in a white patch on the chest. The cubs are much lighter and redder, but still drybrushed with gray/brown for more natural coloration. Attachments:
