So what if it's from their Wonder Woman kit? This is a little diary of how such a kit progresses from somewhat begun to almost finished. Primed in Testors white and dry fit, the monster octopus is breaching from the waves. His head is built from three pieces which leave a damned seam that's almost impossible to hide. The four tentacles come from twelve separate pieces. I decided to paint as much as I could before securing anything to the splashing water base they fit into. Attachments:

The next coat is Freak Flex Banshee Grey and immediately following that, more FF Banshee Grey with a telltale helping of Autopsy Orange to bring the color up slowly. The last thing I want is a glaring orange octopus. Attachments:

Building up the warm color slowly. Green is the most common color that I see in build-ups of this kit. I defied convention. Once again, no glue on the tentacles. Attachments:

Jumping ahead a bit, the monster now has eyes, bloodshot of course. In retrospect, I should have masked them before painting. Too many layers of paint softened the irises. Anyway, this octopus is by no means anatomically correct. Attachments:

With some more creatures I'm painting in the background, the octopus has taken on some character. More off-white will go into the undersides of the tentacles and maybe some more dry-brushing around the crooked brows. Yes, I'm glad I didn't go with a green color scheme. BTW: the odd holes in the monster's head are for an encircling golden lasso. It shames me to relate that the solvent I used on Wonder Woman to remove unwanted fleshtones was too strong and I nearly softened the figure beyond saving. Luckily, I got her out before that could happen. In the mean time, Cro-Magnon Woman will fill in nicely. Attachments:

Nice concept here - Cro-Mag Woman would fit right in! Steve

Or the Cro-Mag Man with his spear - or both!

Painting of the mollusk complete. Cro-Magnon Woman's leg fits nicely inside the low, curling tentacle. Using the bent legs is the way to go for that pose. Not a lot of level spots on the base for anyone else to stand, but I could cheat and hide another figure behind the rock. The hole in the mollusk's head might be good for a piercing spear. Great kitbash idea! Potential possibilities are endless! CroMag Man w/spear vs. Giant Prehistoric Octopoid is the best! I'd like to see the drooling Allosaurus salivating over the idea of a calamari dinner!
