I never tire of seeing your collection. It's so awesome to see all those kits with the great paint work you have on them.

Thanks Trevor! Sorry guys about the "over brightness" of the pics.

Awesome paint on these! What I really like is the strong color, and they really do look like they all belong together because of the consistent way of painting. When I see yours I think, "that's the kind of look I want mine to have"

Here's the whole thing laid out. Rob Mattison was kind enough to "splice" all images together.

Wow! I know how much work that is to do. As I've been doing it with my own kits. Looks real sweet laid out like that.

I have been on the hunt to find more add-ons to add to my collection that is not really a kit or going to be a kit. These will be more like kit-bashes from other kits. At the moment I have converted the Aurora/Atlantis Bison into my own version of Long horn buffalo. I used some spare LEGO parts and some putty to give it a different look. I'll post pics later of it's progress so far. Also, just did a Saber-tooth Jackalope. Used the spare antlers from the White tailed deer and the Bunny and Cat from Dencomm with a little putty work. Other personal projects in the works are a Brontotherium-Rhino conversion, Melania (Giant Komodo Dragon), Megalocerous (Irish Elk) and another larger Brontosaurus (36") with moveable parts.

Cool ideas Steve. I am working on a brontotherium as well, but a furry one. It's structure will be like a scaled down Wooly Mammoth. I got the idea from working on the Bison. I can also see how to take the brontosaurus head you made and rework the horizon bronto body to make it bigger and more Aurora-like. The trick is making the legs look or even be movable. I think that is one of the only criticisms I have of the Alchemy Stego. Beautiful sculpt, but where the legs attach to the body isn't right.

Scott, what are you using for the body for the Brontotherium? Are you sculpting your own or using an existing figure? For the Brontosaurus, mine is going to take some time to complete. I have separated the front legs for now to bow them out farther from the body and not tucked in. Also, I'm building out the legs more like a tree trunk. Similar to the Spike and Trikes legs. The back leg I'm still contemplating whether to cut them out and bulge them out from the body or leave them intact and bulge out the upper thigh and trunk out the bottom part. So many possibilities, it's hurting my brain?! As I agree with you about the Stego, I still love the fact that there is one!!! Sure wish Aurora would've released that one since they were that close to finishing it. Who knows, maybe someday, a look a like will be born in styrene.

Here's the Prehistoric Bison. Scott got me thinking about doing one since he was showing pics of his work. This gave me thoughts as to what I could do. So I don't hi-jack his thread, I'll post pics here. Found some spare legos from my kids box and made some horns. Added some putty to his nose so it made it flatter. Also added some putty to add height ot his hump. Now, just gotta finish painting him up.

The Bison and the saber-tooth jackelope look great. Those lego pieces fit perfectly for the horns.
My plan is to build the brontotherium from scratch with professional grade, sufur-free, polymer clay then cast it. It's about the level I'm at with sculpting & casting. I think I'll have it done by the summer.
Large, furry beast seem pretty easy. The next level of difficulty would be skin textures like the brontosaurs. But the work done on the the Raptor, Struthiomimus, and Protoceratops are at a master's level. I'm not sure if I'll ever get to that point.

Superb. Love the colours and the add ons. Always an insperation to see other peoples stuff. Must get some add ons for my collection part two. After finishing my original layout in roughly box colours I have loads of ideas for other stuff. I already have several re issue kits picked up cheap ages ago and spare Cromagnon Man/Woman, just need to get building. Must finish the Pyro T-Rex first though! keep up the good work. G

Always love looking at your work Steve. From your color selection, to the little additions and tweaks you make to things.

Thanks!
Eventually there will be more added to the collection. Gonna start on some more kitbashes soon. Have to get some more parts in before that can happen though.
