A friend of mine stopped by a few weeks ago, who is a HUGE Aurora collector. He told me how the 'mad dog' from the customizing kit can be used next to the Cro-Magnon man to make a hunting scene, say with the Cave Bear or Saber-Tooth Tiger? Has anyone tried this? He also pointed out that the old Marx cavemen figures could be used to make a scene by "surrounding" a Mammoth as if they are about to bring it down. - S'kid

I've seen an extension kit to the monster scenes series which contains a vulture and a mad dog. You could use the vulture on a tar pit scene if you had a spare mammoth.

I think I've seen one in a diorama before - it should work good - the Mad Dog is a little bigger scale supposedly but back then could be just right!Has that snarl too that would work with it facing a Cave Bear. Steve

There are a couple of sets of these on E bay at the moment. One with a starting bid of 99 pence. You could use the bat and the rats that come with it in the cave. I suspect rats weren't about back then as they were still native to North Africa, but neither were dinosaurs so what the hell!

I have some of those bats and a mad dog from when Polar Lights reissued the kits. The problem is...where are they? Hmmmmm. S'kid

I thought of using the dog & vulture too. I think there are some rats too.

For years I've planned a diorama between a Cromagnon man and a tiger, if I ever find the time to do it, I'll have to see if I can incorporate the dog somehow.
