Just got an email from Dave Hodge. Looks like a PS display is going to happen at Wonderfest 2014.
Now I have sooooo much to do.
Anyone want to throw out ideas of what you would like to see? (always looking for more ideas)

Great news!!! I'm all in for this - hope it tops the last display! I would like to see smaller displays but would still like to see a complete display again as well. That's always cool to see in person! Steve

I am thinking more along the lines with smaller groupings of kits. Seeing them all together was great, but you kind of loose the appreciation for each piece that way.
I am hoping to have each version of the mammoth assembled to display. Now, they won't be painted, but just put together to show how they all look with the replacement heads.

The Mammoth display would be cool. How many different conversions are out there?

You are going to have to forgive me for the daft questions, but this limey is going to be in the USA next summer and is wondering 1. When is it and 2. Where is it? I'd love to come and see it but I have a small window. Lots of sites to see etc. I may well be in a position to make it...or not.

What about the Prehistoric Bison conversion using the Aurora Bison kit. I know its not really a PS kit but it is based on an Aurora kit? Steve

I assume you'll do the conversion and add-on kits to the mix as well? Just judging by the last post about the mammoths.

Oh yeah. As well as the prototype parts and such. I still have to get with Dave and see how much room we have. And how much of his stuff he plans on bringing. If he is going to bring his 3 rexes and his rex box, I want to bring one with the spino conversion to add to it. Also planning on doing something different with the boxes this time. Instead of just making one big wall with them like I did last time. I'm thinking of running them right down the middle, the whole length of the display. Also, sort of working on another idea. Just in the planning stages at the moment. I'd like to blow up a Make-A-Scene into a couple banners to hang on the edge of the tables. Still working out what dimensions it would end up being, and how exactly I want to do it. Especially since the banner guy I used last time has kind of flaked out and disappeared from the hobby.

Greetings all. The Prehistoric Scenes display at Wonderfest is a definite go. I announced to our board that we are doing it again, and we have some prime territory to put the display. It will around the room center post of room B and be eight or nine tables. I do plan on bringing my Rex collection and store display for starters. The tables will be placed in a square and be easily visible from the hallway. This is the 25th anniversary show and we are going to have some outstanding displays. I want this one to really pop! Attendees have always enjoyed it. I also want to put a question out there for all of you. Would there be any interest in a build up contest of prehistoric scenes? I would provide a prize or prizes for the best buildup of a prehistoric scene. Do you think there would be enough interest? We could give one table over to contest entries. Just a thought. Let me know what you guys think.

Not sure about the contest. But as to location, are you talking about that circle of tables (1-8) where Federation used to set up? If so, I want to put the Rexs right there on table 1 facing the hallway. Those are always the attention grabbers, and will suck people right into the room to see what is going on. Maybe put the mammoths on tables 6 or 7 so they can be seen from the other doorway.

Yes, it is the circle of tables where Federation used to be. They are back in the main room. The contest was just a thought since you wanted different ideas. I am fine with putting the rexes up front as well as items related to them.

Been thinking about the contest. I do like the idea. But think it might work better in the contest room and have a sponsored prize like others do. It would give the PS kits a bit more exposure, and might remind some people to go check out the display.

This sounds cool. I have always wanted to go. I also have all the kits, many of the add-ons and bases I've designed to expand and reconfigure the layout. How are you deciding on what to display and who gets to show stuff?

No real rhyme or reason. Basically there are a few set things that will definitely be on display. (such as the rex's all in a row) Then the rest depends on who else wants to contribute, and what they bring.
