Hi All, I need the two body halves of the tar pit Rhino.
Bought several kits in a bundle off ebay sold as seen. It wasn't a great photo and even though I suspected it, it is now clear the rhino halves were missing. the other stuff was fine. It included the box and instructions so you would think the seller would have known and listed it.
I know its a big ask. Otherwise I have a horn, leg, tongue and one ear going if I can't get the parts. I'll stick a revell mammoth in it instead.
Also in the box I have a cave bear leg half and a straight sabre tooth tiger leg half if you think you are missing them.
The good thing is that there was also a Pyro cave man with a rock held above his head that I've been looking for in the box to!

Any ideas of what I could replace the Rhino with? I have a spare re-issue mammoth but its a bit big for the pit as it stands.

Nice one Andy! LOL The Allo could be washing his arm pits. He always looked as if he was complaining at his own scent! Maybe a prehistoric jacuzzi with the cro mags and the Neander up to their waists in a hot spring. I could paint the tar blue instead? I could have little coconut shells with cocktails in! LOL!

Just for fun I painted the Tar Pit to be a black Lagoon. I'll add the tree later. All kinds of possibilities....

Presecenes this is cool! The gillman was my favourite monster of movie land. Cos' he looked like an evolved dinosaur. Plus he had great taste in girls. I seem to remember Christopher Lee's Mummy coming out of a swamp too. Might have been some other mummy? I'm going to keep my eye out for something a bit special like this.

I wish I would have thought of it on my own but it was the Cult base that inspired the use of the Tar Pit base.

Interesting fact. Just been looking on the La Brea tar pit site. There is no actual record of a rhinoceros ever being found. All these years I just assumed......

Somehow, I missed this when you first posted it. If you don't do it, I might just steal that idea sometime.

As a result of no Rhino, I have decided to build my own tar pit victim. I got my Sculpy out with the intention of producing something from the list of things found at La Brea. However they all seemed pretty dull. So I have decided to produce some other Rhino type creature. Brontops or something similar with more interesting horns.

I thought I'd do a practice sculpt and see how it looks. Just a generic body before I choose the head. The sze needs to be right as does the position of the leg. Attachments:

Neither can I but I'm waiting for some more Sculpy to arrive in the post. I puta bit of quick paint on to the body just to see what its like. Its looking too much like the cave monster in Return of the jedi at the moment. I need to sculpt the final one with less warts on the shoulder hump and less wrinkles too. It makes the skin look too thin if there are too many folds. The folds should be thicker and the skin slightly rough. Theres never a quick answer is there? Attachments:
