Another recent Ebay acquisition. A "nicely painted" Doctor Jekyll from Aurora's 1975 monster kit line. Well, some parts of it were, particularly the floorboards and the doc's vest and buttons, but the rest of the kit left a lot to be desired. Right now, Jekyll is in my own homemade concoction of degreaser to separate the good from the bad. A little seam-work will help as well---he seems to have a "split" personality.
Sweet! I wish I could get into this one too. There is nothing there that catches my interest. I started on mine but quickly put it back in the box and there it sits now. Eventually it'll get done but only if I have no more kits to build. People seem to do very nice build ups of it and I'm sure you will too. Maybe I should get an after market head from COP...Like the Fredrick March head. copp.headplug.com/ That would simply improve on its looks that's for sure. Sorry, didn't mean to steal your thunder. I truly am interested how this'll turn out.
Steve. Those replacement heads are for the other kit. Aurora made 2 different kits. The first, was the longbox kit, in the same scale as the other longbox monsters. Which is the one Moebius produced and all the replacement heads are for. www.sideshowtoy.com/mas_assets/jpg/6932_press01-001.jpg
My Bad Trevor. For some reason I saw the repopped version not the MOTM version. Tunnel vision I guess?! When Monarch does release their version of the MOTM Drac and J/H, I will get those for sure. I'm kinda quiet on the whole MS thing but I'm collecting as many MS kits as possible. Eventually I'll get'em fixed up and into a Monster 'Scene'.

Just in time for Halloween; the Doctor is in. Fixing him up was pretty easy except for his head which went on last after a lot of fine detail painting. Mixed medium--Badger Freak Flex paints over Testors enamels. Washes and drybrushing were employed chiefly on the face and hands. A re-release of Jekyll (with obvious modifications) is in the works, but I prefer this version.
Nice clean work on this one! I have one in my collection and it has to be the most boring of all Aurora's Monster Scenes. I have another one with the transformation head I am going to build someday to display next to it.I like the way you painted his face - makes the details pop. Steve
