I read with interest the note on Trevor's website about the possibility of a version of the Allosaurus kit with one base. I don't know if such a version was offered, but it sounds like a logical possibility. (As a kid I only had the version with two bases and currently I have the no base version.). As a kid I remember observing that the two base parts looked as though they had been sculpted at different times. Not as noticeably as on the two base parts for the Saber Tooth Tiger, but enough to take note of. All of the other two (or more)-part bases snap together. The fact that the two Allosaurus bases simply sit next to each other further suggests that they were created at different times.
But has it been established that one base would actually fit in the original size box (with the Saber Tooth Tiger on it)? It seems like it would be a very tight fit.
