Does anyone know if any company ever produced kits featuring prehistoric aquatic reptiles? (When I was a kid I always thought it would be cool to have a plesiosaur or an ichthyosaur or a mosasaur.)

There is an add-on Plesiosaur and several people have looked at producing an Icthyosaur. Trouble is the flippers don't move like legs and they'd need to be beached for the full effect. There's a Mosasaur add-on too too and a Kronosaurus but they are emersed in the bases like a Tar Pit Rhino. This hasn't got the play value of say an Allosaur or a Spiked Dino.

The water vs. land situation would make it difficult to integrate aquatic dwellers into the existing PS world. But as a stand-alone subset, they could be pretty neat. I'd even settle for a giant trilobite.

Horizon had a vinyl Elasmosaurus. I just finished painting it and will post a photo when I get the chance.

I'd even settle for a giant trilobite. I guess it all depends on how you want to display it. If you want them submerged part or mostly out of water, it should fit quite nicely next to one of the edges like the Dimetrodon or Allosaurus bases. If you want to see them fully then one of two things: 1) have them "beached". 2) Do a totally separate grouping of underwater creatures "floating" over their base like they are swimming. There are quite a few possibilities with them. Example: I have an Elasmosaurus from Alchemy that was supposedly "beached". I decided that I wanted him more "underwater" than on land so I propped him above the base and have him floating over the sea bottom along with some fished and some seaweeds. A Fairly barren sand bottom but it works for me. www.tylisaari.com/prehistoricscenes/gallery/steve35.htmlI could change my mind later and and sever his neck from the body and have him swimming with his head out of the ocean toward land/victim. I also think that Jeff/Mike did a great job with their Brontosaurus half way out of the water depicting it like the 1960's would've envisioned it. www.tylisaari.com/prehistoricscenes/kits/addons/bronto.html

Or you could just pretend that they magically became able to survive on land and perch one on top of the Cave.
