Kit bash Ceratosaurus!

Started working on a Ceratosaurus kit bash from the Revell Allosaurus (prehistoric scenes). It's slow going but it is what it is. Every little moment I get I add a piece here or there or deduct an area. Anyway, I wanted to do my own version, with his mouth shut and striding. This has been done by others so this isn't a new concept but I just wanted to do a OOAK. I have been doing other OOAK kit bashes but waiting for the right time to sit and paint them up (plus get some missing parts back from a friend of mine to complete them.) So, with out further ado, here's where I'm at right now...

That is really cool.  Very nice stance and expression. It is always fun to see what the creative talent around here comes up with. What are you using for sculpting material?

It's taking 1 1/2 months to get to this point. I just started on the feet late last night. The left foot I cut the toes and re-positioned them so they were slightly bent and not flat to the ground. Just waiting for the putty to dry on that. I am using Aves Apoxie Sculpt for this particular kit bash. Since it is all small variations and areas to change. Otherwise, I would use Magic Sculpt for larger areas to cover.

Here's where he's at right now. Just gotta finish up some details and then glue his body halves together, putty and paint it.  Then, gotta do up a base for him.
The plus to this is he stands on his own without supports or "pins".

I'll start painting on him sometime soon. Not ready to do so yet. I do need to address his tail first. There is a sizable difference about half way up his tail that is a lump and doesn't transition smoothly. Shouldn't be an issue but not something I want to tackle at this moment.

Well, thank you! It was a labor of love.
I still haven't fixed his tail but not in a hurry to do so right now.
Too many other priorities in the works.
