My Spike finally got a new friend this last Fall in the way of an Allosauras. Been meaning to post the pictures for a while. I am really happy with the end result, but the base took me forever! That darned lava and all, I wanted to get a charred earth look but just didn't like the look of it in black or towards brown. I ended up trying some dark purple and really liked it, and it helped tie it together with the the way the Allosauras was painted.

Fluorescent orange and red paint work wonders, not to mention dry brushing, did I mention this base took three times longer to paint then the Allosaur

Great job. And I hear you about the base. Still not happy with mine. It just doesn't paint up well. At least not with my current painting skills.

Thanks guys! Yeah, it's a funny base, I think even unpainted it doesn't really feel like one base, but two different ones stuck together. G
