I'm curious about how people have used the Cro-Magnon Woman's giant rattlesnake accessory. Personally, I hate the darn thing. The whole 'two-headed' thing is so corny, and is much too close to the monster movie vibe for my taste. (Nothing wrong with the vibe, but just not what I prefer for my PS collection.) Worse yet, the thing just doesn't seem to fit properly anywhere. It doesn't fit on the tree properly, or the ground. Unfortunately I feel obligated to use it, since the little bugger is a highlighted part of the kit. I just kind of put it on the ground, although she looks far more terrified of it than it seems interested in her. What's the story behind this thing? Why is it there? Is it a repurposing of a Monster Scenes accessory? How have other people used it?

Yeah, but I've always thought it just doesn't look like it's really sculpted for the tree. Because of the way the tail is sticking out & all. You know?
I noticed that one of the HMS drawings on your site has it wriggling along the base of the tree trunk.

Could always take a heat gun to it, and modify it a bit.

Great question. It's like one of those assembly/disassembly puzzles which you do once and then can never find the same way to do it again... When I got the kit again in the 1990's, I was sure that there must be a 'correct' or intended position for the snake, as most details of the entire PS line have a correct or best position. I tinkered around with it for a while and found a position for it on the ground, between clumps of grass, fitting perfectly between them; this position is quite easy to find. But I also found a position for it on the tree, fitting perfectly over or around something, hence the loop in the snake's body. I mentioned it to another collector and he said he'd come across it as well, but nowadays I can't remember how it fitted so well on the tree .

This was one of the first kits that I rebuilt and painted. I managed to get the snake in the tree and it looks ok, but could be better. After I finished my kit I read somewhere that the snake has to be fixed to the tree before the tree is fixed to the base. Anyone tried this? I left my kit alone as I did not want to distured it.
