A little disappointed to find that the Revell re-releases from a few years back seem to be no longer in production correct me if I'm wrong- please When they were first released i bought all but the flying reptile... I went to hunt down a flying reptile last week thinking I could easily buy one new, and it wasn't as easy to find as I thought. It makes the hopes of building the add-on model versions with different heads much more difficult. Maybe someone else will release them again... G

If you get desperate, I may have an extra around here someplace.

Yeah. They are still pretty easy to find. From just about any of the reissues. They just cost a little more, which I think is the point the OP was making. If you are thinking about laying out the cash for a replacement head, added cost for the plastic kit, may push the total investment past a persons comfort limit.

I guess it's more that when they reissued them I figured they be running them for some time. I guess four years isn't bad - and certainly better than nothing!

Yeah. Most of the time stuff like this only gets run for a year or two. So they must have been selling pretty well.

I think I am fairly well stocked up at the moment. That pile of seven boxes contain 7 rexes (all atlantis) 14 spiked (1 '79 & 13 '07) 5 trikes (all '07) 7 pteranodons (2 '88, 1 '93, and 4 '07) 4 sailbacks (1 RG & 3 '07) [still need a few more] 2 mammoths (all '07) [but, I've already done built the 4 versions too] 3 armored (1 '93, 1 RG, and 1 '07) 1 allo ('07) And those are just the extra reissues. I still have the extra originals, the sealed kits in the collection, and a few in various stages of work. Attachments:

I picked up six Revell mammoths at the equivalent of under $4 each at a local discount store. I've sold four on Ebay to finance my model kit habits. It was a real money spinner. I've got two spare as well as the one I have made up, I've also managed to get four of my favourite kit at a resaonable price form an Ebay hobby store. The 'Dragon Dinosaur' as Revell call it. There's still a few about in the UK and they do provide plenty of cheap fodder for kit bashing. My Revell Linbberg Hybrid Dimetrodon would never have seen the light of day if I'd had to use Aurora parts. Nor would I have cut up a real Aurora Allosaur like I did with the Revell one. They may all surface again in new boxes if the Jurassic Park Four film turns up popular. A whole new collecting obsession.

That's a good idea... I hope they do re re release 'em after Jurassic World comes out. Who knows.... Maybe they'll release the harder to find kits... ( That'd be so cool! ) BTW Trevor... nice ( drool ) collection.....!

Yeah, I got lucky, and had money available when Squadron was having a big sale on the kits. Then they had a 30% discount on all orders on top of that. I grabbed like 8 or 10 rexes at roughly $28 each and a dozen of the spiked dinos for something like $4.50 each if I remember correctly.

I'll be sure to save up some dough!!!

Unfortunately, they don't have much selection of dinosaurs anymore www.squadron.com/category-s/2581.htmIn a previous order I had stocked up on some trikes and mammoths, but by the time I placed that big order (around xmas 2012) they only had rexs and spikes left. They also don't have much in the way of monster scenes anymore either. I stocked up on some of those during another sale. Especially the Denncom stuff. Got those for less than $8 each.
