Its too bad the backdrop wasnt in there - or is it part of the deal and just not photographed? Way cool to get a T-Rex box I'd like to get one at an affordable price someday. See ya at Wonderfest! Steve

I already have a backdrop. So I wasn't worried about that.

I'm really chuffed as I just scored a complete cave bear, a complete tar pit, a sabre toothed tiger with its spare legs and an almost complete giant bird for £42. It has a pyro lindberg Cory, Proto, Steg and a dimetrodon thrown in. £42 quid is a lot but I now have my giant bird and only a few swamp parts to go for a totally full house. the paint on the PS stuff is light so repaints will be easy enough.

I saw that auction. Glad you ended up with it.

Here is my haul. The tarpit is great only missing the meat chunk which I already have. Nameplate is with it. Same with the bear, name plate, skulls and cave wall. Tiger has all the legs, the deer leg is in too as well as the name plate. The giant bird is complete itself and has the base but its missing eggs, plants, pare leg and the flying lizard. The paint is mostly mat and applied thinly. The lindbergs are ready for kitbashes. I'm very satisfied and the seller really packed them well, clearly bothered they arrived in one piece. I have a big grin on my face. I've not been this happy in ages! Attachments:

Thanks Andy! Sorry I didn't catch your original message earlier. It was hovering around a tenner until a few hours before the bid ended. I thought it was the bargain of the century. Then between going shopping and coming back in it had rocketed to the final price within a couple of hours. Luckily/Foolishly I'd put in a maximum bid of £50 quid having lost out on stuff before. I'll have to eat beans on toast until pay day now. But getting them out of the box and on the kitchen counter and linking them up together caused a wave of nostalgia worth every penny.

Yeah. I miss the days when you could actually contact he winners and try to buy parts of lots like that. Used to make quite a few mutually-beneficial deals back in the day that way. I'd get stuff I needed, and the other guy could make back some of the money they spent.

Just got this www.ebay.com/itm/251485009609Been watching it for a few weeks now. Really great shape. Especially since those 92 Revell boxes are just as flimsy as the Monogram ones. I think it was listed for $100 + $25 shipping the first few weeks it was up. Then it dropped to $80, then down to $75. Finally I made an offer on it for a total cost of $70 shipped and the seller went for it. Yay! Now I just need a sealed 88 for my Rex collection. (and Revell-Germany, but those are soooooo scarce)

I think its a tradition if you see silly e-bay bids we post them here. This is is my latest jaw dropper about how silly the bids can be. Put in a bid on an arm-less Cro-Mag woman. I thought that a fiver was fare considering the hassle of finding arms. It amazed me it went for over £16! Needless to say when she hit £10 I stopped bidding. Puts a new spin on h'armless' fun.

Just scored 5 of the Revell-Germany mini-dinos! And, at a decent price.
Now I just have to see how long they take to get here from Germany.

Too expensive for me. I only grab them when they are in the $30-40 range.

It was way cheaper than that when I put the link up. Its not my thing even if it was in the UK, if I bought this I'd have to collect the rest. Since I got my giant bird I have all the PS kits, all the airfix ones made and two boxed duplicates and Lindberg coming out my ears, tamiya etc etc etc. You know the score. I don't think I can afford to go trailing around after these especially in the UK where they would be very expensive.

Well, this post will be a little different. Usually I pop in here to celebrate a great score on ebay. Not this time. This is going to be a bit of a cautionary tale, because I went and got myself burned this time. And I have no one to blame except myself. www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SEALED-1987-Monogram-Snap-Tite-Tyrannosaurus-Rex-1-13-Scale-Model-Kit-/111428568712Saw this auction during a quick search. Threw it on my watch list, then remembered it, just after it closed. Since it didn't sell, I contacted the seller. Who, agreed to sell it to me outright for the opening bid + shipping. I'm thinking "Cool! Finally going to get this one sealed and at a good price." Fast forward to tonight when I open the package. And discover the fatal flaw. The one I didn't see in the auction pic, but is right there staring at me when I look at it again. And no, I'm not talking about the torn cellophane. While not ideal, I can live with that. Every now and then I get bit like this. To remind me to always look at every pic closely to make sure I don't miss things I will regret.

Well I feel a bit of a fool. What's the issue? I can't see what it is that's the fatal flaw?!

Yea - at first glance its easy to miss. That tear in the top is obvious after you finally see it. Guess the guy had access to a shrinkwrap machine. Doesn't quite match up to his description. I'm hoping the guy doesn't deal with model kits much and didn't deceive on purpose. I sometimes get overexcited and bid without really looking close and long enough. What sucks is you didn'y actually get your factory sealed kit. Steve
